ABOUT ELMORE FESTIVAL

what makes us: diffrent
Elmore Festival began in 2020 when a family of musicians decided to bring live classical music to their village in rural Gloucestershire. The idea was simple: create a festival with world-class performances in a friendly, welcoming setting that anyone could enjoy, whether a lifelong classical fan or just curious to try something new.
Since that first summer, the Festival has grown every year, welcoming some of the most exciting young musicians from across the United Kingdom and Europe. In 2024, we introduced our first jazz night, which sold out instantly, and by 2025 we were hosting our biggest audiences yet, with visitors travelling from all over the country.

The heart of the Festival is the beautiful 13th-century Church of St. John the Baptist in Elmore. Alongside the church, we make use of the surrounding fields, which provide the perfect space for our Festival Bar and our ever-popular jazz night. Each August, the church and its grounds come alive for four days of music, laughter, and community spirit. Intimate, historic, and full of atmosphere, it is a setting that makes every performance feel truly special.
What makes Elmore Festival even more unique is that it is still entirely run and managed by the founding family. All of the festival infrastructure is custom designed and carefully assembled each year by the team to fit the church and surrounding land, creating a setting that feels both handcrafted and deeply personal. We also take great pride in using lighting to illuminate the 800-year-old church, bringing out the beauty of the building and adding an extra touch of magic to every performance.

We are also passionate about supporting the next generation of musicians. Since 2021, Elmore Festival has hosted masterclasses, showcases, and workshops for local young performers and composers, giving them the chance to learn, play, and be inspired by professional artists.
And of course, no festival is complete without good drink. Our Festival Bar, run in partnership with Gloucester’s award-winning Pelican Inn, serves local ciders and freshly brewed ales from the nearby Wye Valley Brewery, creating the perfect way to round off a concert.
In just five years, Elmore Festival has become a summer highlight, a joyful mix of world-class music, warm hospitality, and that unmistakable village festival feel.
