The Elmore Quartet, formed in Manchester and now based in London, are Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since their first session in 2017, they’ve performed throughout the UK and Europe, with appearances at Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, and on BBC Radio 3. In 2024, they were awarded Third Prize at the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition. That same year, they became the first resident quartet with the Penzance MusicAbility Foundation, a three-year post that sees them perform regularly in West Cornwall and work closely with local schools and communities.

Clarinettist James Gilbert enjoys a vibrant international career spanning orchestral, chamber, and contemporary music. A regular guest principal with ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and BBC Concert Orchestra, recent highlights include performing Schumann’s Piano Concerto with Martha Argerich and Antonio Pappano at the Philharmonie de Paris. A passionate chamber musician, he is a member of Ensemble Renard, one of the UK’s most exciting emerging wind quintets, and performs widely with groups such as London Chamber Ensemble, Echor Music, and Elmore Quartet.
