The NOVO Quartet began in 2018 with three childhood friends and a Polish violist - and a name given by a concert organizer who called them “NOVO” because they were new. Six years on, their journey is still driven by curiosity and open-minded exploration. Performing around 75 concerts a year, they’ve appeared at venues like Wigmore Hall and Victoria Hall, while also bringing music to places like Kenya, Greenland, and Colombia. Prize-winners at Geneva, Heidelberg, and more, they balance excellence with outreach. Their bond is their foundation, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the Elmore Festival this year.
The Elmore Quartet is an award-winning British ensemble based in London, where they are Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School. Since their first rehearsal in 2017, they’ve been united by a love of chamber music and a mission to share it with audiences worldwide. They’ve performed at leading venues including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, and Bridgewater Hall, and recently won Third Prize at the 2024 Premio Paolo Borciani Competition in Italy. As Penzance MusicAbility’s first resident quartet, they are deeply committed to outreach alongside their performance career.
